My Academic Work:
Teaching the “Male Divine”: A Lesson Planning Unit for 8th Grade Students
This slideshow gives an overview of a lesson plan focused on teaching the concept of the male divine through analysis and engagement with a specific myth. The presentation documents an 8 week unit that focuses on a close reading of the Aztec myth “Quetzalcoatl Rescues the Precious Bones and Discovers Corn.” Through special attention to the character of Quetzalcoatl as the male divine, the foundation of the unit is established and connections to the archetype are made.
